E-Mail Notification setup issue

Thread needs solution

I set up TIH2013 to run nightly on a remote PC. I would like to set it up to send me e-mail notifications, however, I can't get it to work. Here's the problem: I can set up all my server settings and send a test message no problem, but when I click 'OK' it complains that 'All fields are not filled in'. It's referring to the Username and password. The problem is it's pointing at a server of mine that does not need, nor does it support authentication (It's a simple relay acting as a smarthost for mail for my domains). If I enter bogus credentials, it fails.

You need to add an option to disable authentication. Virtually every application out there that can send simple SMTP messages has that option.

You are correct that Acronis should change this behavior.

You can not save the email credentials unless ALL the fields are filled in.

This has been discussed here on this board for several years and the results have been mixed.

There have been some builds of some versions that this problem was corrected in, but True Image 2013 is now back to having the issue you reported.

A workaround is to use a different email account that requires ALL the fields that Acronis wants filed in to be used.

I use Gmail for this, and set a filter up in Gmail to forward the Acronis mail to my main email account.
