Erase Log

How does one erase the log?!? Not the backups, just to clean slate the log.
After I bought this version I had to manually remove a backup. Big Mistake. The log function went haywire. It is now impossible to remove an invalid backup. The entire program freezes requiring it to be shut down in task manager.
There must be some way to purge the log and add valid backups back in. I called support and they REFUSED to help unless they were paid. After buying the program and upgrades for 5 years this is disappointing.
