Error -- Kernel Panic CPU too old

Thread needs solution

I backed up a NEC Versa LX in 2006 using a version (probably 7) of Acronis and have a number of upgraded products over the years. So when I put the bootable Acronis CD in, it boots up to the Acronis GUI and on selecting restore I get the kernel panic error.

Where can I find a version of Acronis that will work with this old machine? I replaced the old PATA 2G disk drive (it is still working but SMART is complaining) with new hardware and tested in XP home and the hardware formats okay as C drive. I tried to find messages about cpu too old and couldn't find any which surprises me. And the support is ran out for my new upgrade on 23 Jan 2012 which left me nonplussed.

Hello Keith,

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us.

The reason why you get this error is that the most recent versions require more CPU, than old computers normally have.

I'll send you the link to the media that requires less CPU, than current versions, but I need to know how much CPU you have. Could you please send this information to me via PM?

Thank you!
