error message 'the selected tab is already in use'
Hello,
I have been trying to complete a backup for several weeks. This morning I got a new error message. I was asked to 'Select your current computer or register a new one' - which hasn't happened before - and then when i click on the computer I am using I get the message 'the selected tab is already in use. the computer on the tab will be unregistered and its online backup task will be disabled. are you sure you want to continue?' - which I confess i simply don't understand.
Any help anyone?

Michael, let me assist you with the issue.
The issue you have is pretty unique, we've never been informed about it previously. However, the most probable reason of it is that the certificates that used to identify this particular computer were expired for some reasons. So I may recommend you to delete them and download new ones.
Please navigate to the following folder:
- Windows XP \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup\<your_email>\
- Windows Vista/7 \ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup\<your_email>\
and delete client.crt file. After that please reconnect to Acronis Online Backup. The most up-to-date certificate will be downloaded to the machine.
If the issue still persists, please collect AcronisInfo tool output from your PC and submit a support request attaching the gathered information.

Today is the 1st time I've seen "Computer Selection", Select your current computer or register a new one." If I select my pc, & click Continue, I get "Confirmation, the selected tab is already in use. the computer on the tab will be unregistered and its online backup task will be disabled. are you sure you want to continue?"
It appears if I say yes, ALL data from those backups will be deleted. I HAVE TOO MUCH DATA/TIME INVESTED TO THINK ABOUT GETTING RID OF ALL OF IT. The message from BIN sounds like nothing will be deleted, but I am not willing to take that risk unless I know all data can be restored.
I navigated to win7 c: programData... your_email and just see file config.xml
Please assure me all my data will not be deleted.

Hello Norm,
Rest assured, your data won't be deleted anyway since you have a subscription valid until 2011-02-27.
I may recommend you to connect to Online Service once again, certificate files should be downloaded to your PC.
If you still can't use the service, please collect AcronisInfo and submit a support request.
