error msg in backup-management (true image home 11)
I need to access to the backup-management, but get the following error msg:
"Öffnen des Werts 'Uri' von 'k_5610FAC3-ED7B-4075-8253-33EA1A75DC1C' fehlgeschlagen. (0x4D0003)
Tag = 0xD8054ECE8A04136F"
I suspect, that there lies the reason for XP issuing the error msg during search processes with the Windows search wiz (see attachment).
if the archive is really mounted, how can I dismount it to enable proper searches in W-explorer?
if this is not the reason, what else can lead to this msg?

Hi Colin,
tnx fr yr reply. Trying to answer yr questions:
Are you using a German version of TI 11 %%%%WHAT IS TI 11? WHAT FUNCTION IS IT SUPPOSED TO PERFORM? SORRY TO ASK........%%%%
on a German language XP? %%%% yes %%%% Which build of TI 11 do you have? %%%%WHERE CAN I FIND IT? %%%%
The mount shouldn't survive a reboot, does it exist in Windows Explorer and or in Disk Management. %%%% I DID NOT INTEND TO MOUNT AN ARCHIVE- MAY BE I HAVE DONE SUCH AN ACTIVITY USING ACRONIS. UNFORTUNATELY, I DONT KNOW WHERE TO FIND A LIST OF EVENTUAL MOUNTS %%%%
I'm not sure, but TI 11 might not work happily with Windows Search.
Where is the archive stored, external or internal drive? %%%% ARCHIVE IS ON EXT HD %%%%
In Windows Task Manager do you have a TIMOUNTER entry? %%%% YES, TimounterMonitor.exe %%%%
I would be very happy to hear how to get rid of it !!!
tnx in advance, rds
Peter

TI 11 = True Image 11
To find the build number - click Help\About
Is TI the English or German language version?
If the image is mounted it will show up with a drive letter in Windows Explorer or Disk Management.

here the info:
TI 11 = True Image 11 %%% GEE! %%%
To find the build number - click Help\About %%% BUILD 8.105 %%%
Is TI the English or German language version? %%% German language version %%%
If the image is mounted it will show up with a drive letter in Windows Explorer or Disk Management. %%% I DONT SEE ANY DRIVE (EXCEPT THE PHYSICAL ONES ) IN WINDOWS EXPLORER. %%%
so, I'm curious what yr guess is..

Hello,
First of all I'd like to thank bodgy for his help.
Peter, let me fix the issue for you.
The issue may occur after upgrading from the previous version of Acronis True Image Home because certain registry keys are not properly updated during the upgrade process.
To fix it, please do the following:
- Use Windows Explorer to browse for the existing Backup Locations directories (if any of backup locations are set up). Manually delete configuration files (*.cfg) from them.
- Run "regedit" from Start -> Run and search for the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Acronis\Fomatik\PlaceBrowser\FavoritePlaces
- Delete all existing subkeys under FavoritePlaces
- Recreate Backup Locations if you had any
This should eliminate the error.
If you had Backup Locations set up before applying this solution, we recommend you to recreate Backup Locations in the folders they had been organized. The backups stored in these folders will be automatically recognized by the newly created backup locations. Therefore, there is no need to recreate backups stored in the Backup Location folders.
You can also take a look at a Microsoft article on how to modify the Windows registry.
Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists, I'll be glad to assist you.
Thank you.

Thank you very much, Ilya, I followed yr instructions, and by now, the error did no longer occur, so, tnx again.
By the way, you promised me yr assistance also in another issue ("XP no shut down"), for wich I wrote an addendum recently (It sais "Hi Ilya,
coming back to yr answer- unfortunately, the prob persists.
I have run some additional experiments with the following results:
XP fails totally with the 1st attempt to close, issuing the message that Acronis does not react. After forced termination of Acronis ("do you really want...?..data loss" etc) shut down continues regularily, until the screen shows "Windows shutting down" as described in my last post. HD activities are finished at this point of time, by the way. when switching off the PC on the hard way using the power-button (not the mains switch) and switching on again, Acronis remains in the status GREEN.So it cannot be a HW-prob, as the power button is SW-controlled.
It seems to me, that some sort of Acronis routine is not running properly during shut down."
can I eliminate the schedhlp2-routine you told me to install..? task mgr requires immediate termination at every shut-down-attempt.
best rds
