Error when reinstalling on new computer
I am trying to install Backup and Recover version 2011 on my new computer.
I have downloaded and installed the latest version of 2011. When I run the program, I am asked for my installation key, my email address and password. When I enter these and proceed, I get the error "Your registration email or password is incorrect." which is not true. I have used the same combination to log in at acronis.com. Not sure where to go from here.

Hello Judith,
welcome to Acronis Forum!
Fedor, thank you very much for helping!
Judith, it looks like you have downloaded a wrong installation file. You need Acronis True Image 2011 and not Acronis Backup and Security 2011.
Please log into your account and download build 6942 of Acronis True Image 2011.
Let me know if you need any additional assistance.
Thank you.

Thanks for the continued help on my behalf. My desktop icon for the program on the new machine says "Acronis True Image 2011, so I feel sure I have the correct program installed. I tried the download again and realized the I had already downloaded the correct program. Does the program absolutely have to be uninstalled on the old computer before the new version will register? If this is true, the error message I am getting is bogus, but I am confused about this. I am trying to get as much done on the new computer as I can before abandoning the old one, as the old one is used every day.
Anyway.... problem not yet solved. Remember the error message says the user name and password are wrong, but they are not. I have successfully used the same user name and password to log in to my account at acronis.com.
Please advise

Backup&Security a bundle - http://kb.acronis.com/content/18653 - and True Image part was not renamed and looks as True Image, and your product most likely is Backup & Security (it say so in the pop-up dialog box, and True Image alone could not have such wording). If you check the version of True Image executable files it will be 7040 for Backup & Security (see http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/updates/ for products' versions). Also, if it turns out to be Backup & Security indeed, the licensing policy - http://kb.acronis.com/content/18585 , together with the fact that Backup&Security was discontinued - http://kb.acronis.com/content/29258 - mean that any license for it most likely is expired and the product won't work anyway.
Error message may be bogus - may be it failed to locate registration server at all. Uninstallation is necessary before True Image 2011 can be installed because True Image part of Backup&Security may be considered as a newer version of True Image 2011 by its installer and it won't 'downgrade' itself.

Janet,
Look at the top of your attachment in post #2. It shows you installed Backup & Security and did not iinstall TrueImage Home 2011.
You need to follow Acronis instructions and cleanu it all out and start over with a new download.

Thanks for your continued help. I truly believe you are on the wrong track. I downloaded the latest version of Acronis True Image Home 2011 and I am installing it on a computer that has never had Acronis on it before. The fact that the error message refers to Backup and Security is probably a programming error. I have attached another screen shot. It shows that I have installed Acronis True Image Home 2011. It also says that my Full Version Period Has Expired. If this means what I think it means, I'm out of here. I have used Acronis products on multiple computers for many years. This is the last straw. I'm tired of product upgrades that don't fix problems, and support that is little more than confusing. I have my eyes on a competitive product.

Only the "trial" version has a specific time use of 30 days.
All purchased full or upgrade versions have no time expiration.
The online Cloud backups have subscriptions time periods.
An installation does require the input of its license number in order not to be considered trial software.

Thanks so much for your reply. It is good to know that Acronis software does not expire. I still fail to understand why my installation is saying "Full Version Period Has Expired" and it will not let me past the first screen. When I click on "renew" it asks for a serial number, email address and password. It then tells me that my email or password is incorrect. I have used the automated retrieval system with the product serial number to retrieve the email address. The address I am using is correct. I have reset my password. The results are the same. I am going around in circles here. How can I get this product activated.

contact Acronis support via live chat.

That would be nice. However, I don't have that option. Apparently I can't even purchase a per incident support session. I appreciate your help, but it is looking increasingly like Acronis does not really want to help me until I upgrade, which I'm not going to do.

Let's clarify just to make sure I am responding correctly.
If your current license is a 2012 version, the only upgrade (latest build) you can do (and not spend any money) is to upgrade to the latest "build" of 2012 which is build 7133 released July 12, 2012. I don't know which "build" you have but it is listed on the help/about section of 2012. Assuming that you registered your 2012 serial, this download is available via your Aconis personal account it may also already be what is installed on your computer.
If you wish to upgrade to 2014, you cannot do so without the expenditure of some money.
You can buy the "ugrade version" for the least additional cost and when you install, you will need to input both the 2012 and purchased 2014 serial 64 character serial.
Or, you can buy the full (not upgrade) version which costs more than the upgrade version. When installing, you only need to input the 2014 serial number.
To install the 2014 version, you should uninstall the 2012 version. Run the cleanup utility (signature link 4 below) and then do a fresh install of 2014.
You also can try the 2014 test version for 30 days without any expendiure and this will be installed overtop of 2012. If you test and deciide not to buy, you will need to remove the test install and re-install 2012 at the end of the 30 days testing.
