Error when trying to select a backup location (Hitting the browse button

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis 2011 on a Windows 7 Home Premium Machine. When I try to setup a new backup, it errors out when I try to select browse from the backup location dropdown. The error code I receive is 0x00640022+0x0064000A+0x00040007+0x0000FFF0+0x8000FFFF. The error says something about failed to check the existance of a file. The name of the file is very long and ends with .tib.

I can't seem to find this code anywhere. I have repeatedly uninstalled/reinstalled the software to try and resolve. I also restored the system to an earlier date. Does anyone have an idea how I can get this working again?

I think I have a sense of what's wrong. Please have a look at this KB article.

Also, are you using the latest build of ATI 2011? Latest is Update 3 build 6942

Let me know if this helps. 

If not, please post a screen capture of the exact error you are receiving.

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, my situation is somewhat different than what you are describing. I am running the latest build and have tried to uninstall and reinstall several times with no luck. My problem occurs when I am trying to setup a new backup. After I make the selection of what I want to backup, I then want to select the destination. When I choose browse, the error occurs. I have included a screenshot below.

I cannot locate a match for the specific error message and codes in the KB.

This looks like it has something to do with one of the following:
Drive mapping
System settings on the source and/or destination PC's

Close your Acronis Application

Now navigate to:

Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View Tab > Uncheck Use File Sharing Wizard (Recommended) - This is down near the bottom.

OK > Close

Make this change on the Destination PC as well ( I believe this is where you are saving to yes?)

Open Acronis and attempt to create a new task.

Are you using a mapped drive, or were you using one previously and encountered this error after editing the task?

Do you have existing tasks displaying in the user interface or were they deleted during your troubleshooting?
