Errors reading files during backup
I have used TI installed on a desktop computer to backup files from shared folders on a Windows Home Server (WHS) for a couple of years now.
Up until recently I have had no issues what so ever. I have several backups scheduled, all file backups obviously, one without compression (photos), the others with compression (documents, other files etc).
The problem I seem to be getting on a frequent basis are read/write errors, usually to specific files within a backup. An example error from a backup today is the following. Of note, when these errors occur, it is never the same file. Today when this error occured, I happened to be looking in the Photos folder via windows explorer, but not at this file, nor subfolder!
1 Information 08/04/2010 06:42:33 Operation Photos started.
2 Information 08/04/2010 06:42:33 Priority changed to Low.
3 Information 08/04/2010 06:42:37 Create Differential Backup Archive From: My Data To file: "D:\System\Acronis\Photos\Photos_@date@.tib" Compression: None Exclude: System files, Files matching mask Match criterion: *.~, *.tmp, *.tib
4 Error 08/04/2010 08:10:38 Failed to back up file or folder '\\HPSERVER\Photos\Photos\2009/4 April 09/2009-04-25 14-22-55 - PICT7168.MRW'.
An error occurred while reading a file. The backed up file in the backup may be corrupted and will not be recovered correctly.: None
5 Information 08/04/2010 08:54:58 Operation has succeeded.
The WHS machine has remained the same for some months, though I did add a new hard drive. Otherwise the desktop has Windows 7 Professional 64 bit which was recently installed (prior to that it had Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit).
I have the latest Acronis TI2010 build installed.
The WHS is a Dell PowerEdge T105, with 2 broadcom gigabit ethernet controllers, so bandwidth should not be a problem.
Anyone else observing similar behaviour, I'm getting increasingly frustrated by this.
thanks,

I do not quite understand what he is talking about. He mentioned "ATI" a few times. Is that refering to the graphic card? If it is so, what has it got to do with the backup problem. Anyway, these errors are giving me a lot of headache.
In this latest version of Acronis Home 2011, I cannot find the option to exclude certain file extension, like 'bak' and so on.

Sorry I forgot to mention it is Scott Hieber I am referring to.

"ATI" is conventional shorthand on the forums for Acronis True Image. some folks also use "ATIH" (Acronis True Image Home).

Samuel,
ATI refers to Acronis True Image on this forum. See the attached to see where to find exclusions

Thanks to the response from Scott & Pat.
The files I am backing up actually is on a network drive. I do not know how to do a check disk. It is on a RAID system with 2 hard drives.
Previously I managed to successfully back it up after 3 or 4 times try. While ATI gives me so many error message but when I actually use the files, there seems to be no problem.
