Event Code 1326 (unable to correct by suggested method)

Thread needs solution

Hello all, this thread is copied from Read Before You Post:

"I am unable to use the program because of the reoccuring error, Event Code 1326. I have reinstalled product, updated, and followed the recomended procedure for correcting the error as stated on the Knowledge Base site and user group. I have the System file saved, error files ,the REPORT file, Which was generated by your downloaded utility ready to send to you, but I am unable to find an address to send them to. I am confused by the Acronis web page. It seems the only options are to pay for help, read the knowledge base articles, or use the user group. You have asked that I send the information to you. I have it ready to send; please tell me where to send it.

Thanks,

Charlie"

"I hope this is a real email. It seems strange that this text area was full of instructions. I am lost on this web site, but since I have paid my $50 and can't use the product, I am going to persist at the risk of looking foolish. Somewhere I was instructed to send the attached files to you. Here they are.

I have reinstalled the product, updated the product, read the Knowledge Base articles relating to event code 1326, followed the instructions several times, tried to follow the user form, and the result is that I am lost and unable to back up my data. If I have to pay again in order to use this product, I will reluctantly do so, but I hope this can be resolved without further expense since I have never had the use backup utility.

Your help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Very sincerely,

Charlie"

Hello Charlie,

Let me answer to your thread you posted here http://forum.acronis.com/forum/2995

According to the log file you provided:

My Data Backup4" with GUID 47D32AB0-31CB-470F-A51C-52C78472F8C4 because of the error 1326
(Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password)" module="9" time="1251128101" type="4" />

It means that our program is unable to start the task because of incorrect credentials you specify during the task creation, could you please make sure that you specify your current Administrator username and password?

Please let me know the results.

I've used Acronis TI for several years and this is my first time to have to use it to recover from a crash. My system is Windows 7 64-bit. I have TI 2010 Home. I put my backup file on a hot-swap removable hard drive. After a crash I want to restore all of drive C: but I have no clear indication of how to start. I have the installation disk and a DVD labeled Repair Disk Windows 7 (which I suspect refers to Windows rather than Acronis). I need elementary step-1-2-3 level help. The terminology in the KB confuses more than helps. I can't find a PPI phone number for the USA. HELP!

PS: My question isn't as dumb as it may appear. I've seen the Restore option, but I don't know what decisions need to be made after that. I've learned from many years of home computing that promising starts don't always lead to desired outcomes. One such situation is why I need to do an Acronis Restore.
