Event Log Question: File I/O Error logged as information item instead of failed

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image Home 2010 (build 5.055)

In the task event log, if the media for the backup job is missing the log entry for this is informational and not a failed item.

Because of this, even though the media was missing and the backup was unable to complete - the calendar will show this in green for a Successful task (even though obviously the backup did not take place).

Is there a way to change the event log so that unavailable backup media causes the job to fail so that event and the calendar lets you know that the back was unsuccessful?

This behavior makes the calendar deceiving since your backup media could have failed sometime ago - but all your tasks still show completed as Successful.

Thank you,

Angie

Hello Angie,

Let me assist you.

First of all, please be aware that you're using an outdated build of Acronis True Image Home 2010. Please download the latest build #7046, install it and check if the issue still persists.

  1. Login to your account
  2. Download the latest build from My Products & Downloads;

If the issue occurs again, there might be some problems with Acronis Scheduler Module that is used to manage all tasks in True Image. To fix the issue you need to update it the following way:

  1. Download the latest build of Acronis Scheduler;

  2. Run the downloaded file. It will automatically update the service;

    See if the issue is resolved. If it is not, then please proceed with steps 3 and 4:

  3. Reboot the machine;
  4. Recreate the scheduled tasks.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further help.

Thank you.
