Extracting files from .tib files

Thread needs solution

If i was to use a bootable media only to make my back ups, would i be able to extract various folders/files from within that .tib file?

You could Restore/Explore/Mount the backup file using TI in Windows.

Using the TI CD, you would only be able to restore the backup. You can select to restore specific files/folders, if that's all you need.

Sorry MudCrab maybe i didn't explain myself properly, lets say i have an image from 2 weeks ago made via TI DC and the app is NOT installed on the machine, is there a way (either in house or 3rd party app) that will open the .tib file and extract a certain file/folder i needed into a specific folder, i hope i have made my point a bit better this time.

The answer is no, your only option would be to choose the zip file method, but not sure if that is available from the rescue CD.

Your other option would be to make a Windows PE based rescue CD, but not using the Acronis script but the one by Mustang which will allow mounting in the rescue environment.

As already stated, you can boot to the TI CD and select to restore the files/folders you need. This does not require TI to be installed in Windows, but does require booting to the CD.

Mounting will only work in Mustang's older plugins. The new (free) ones use the Acronis BartPE plugin files and do not support mounting.
