Failed to read from sector (0 and 128) of hard disk 2 message during recovery

Thread needs solution

I attempted a recovery from my backup USB drive (U:) to my system C: with True Image Home 2012 in Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. When the system rebooted into the recovery utility, I received multiple error windows with one of these messages:

Failed to read data from the disk. Failed to read from sector '128' of hard disk '2'.
Direct R/W operation has failed. (0x570001)

Failed to read data from the disk. Failed to read from sector '0' of hard disk '2'.
Direct R/W operation has failed. (0x570001)

After I click cancel from these windows, the window just stays on a bluish screen with EN in the corner. I hard reboot to get it to boot back into Windows.

I used the error checking utility in the properties of the backup drive (U:) and C: and both pass.

I've attached TI.jpg which is a screenshot of the recovery destination options available to me, I chooe Local Disk C: as the destination.

disk.jpg is a screenshot of all the disks in my system. If the disk 2 which TI is complaining about is the same one listed as disk 2 (H:) in that list (which starts from disk 0), then I'm not sure why that drive is involved as only the C: and U: should involved in the recovery. Disk 2 happens to be a dynamic disk (two partitions which is seen as a single H: in Windows), I made that change awhile back, I'm not sure if that affected TI?

What version of 2012 are you using? Standard or Plus Pack?

About says: Acronis True Image Home 2012, Update 2.1 (build 7133). There's nothing about Standard or Plus Pack.

I asked because Dynamic Disks are only supported in the 2012 Plus Pack Product. If you want to use Dynamic Disks, you will need to use a version of Acronis with this support. You might try temporarily disconnecting this drive (system powered off) and attempt your recovery operation again since the product looks at your entire disk environment. If you continue to experience problems, it would be helpful if you could post the log files from the operation and failure.

Thanks

Thanks shadowsports, I didn't know dynamic disks weren't supported and didn't know a disk not involved in the backup or recovery could bring the recovery to a halt. Also, TI would be smart to check for a dynamic disk and issue a better message that an upgrade to the Plus Pack is needed. I'll try disconnecting the dynamic drive before the next recovery to see if that fixes it.
