Failed to start Try&Decide

Thread needs solution

I am running Acronis True Image Home 2011, Update 1 (build 6696) on a Windows 7 SP1 machine. When attempting to run Try & Decide I receive the following message: Failed to start Try&Decide. I attached a screen shot. I have run Try & Decide in the past but it was a while back so I was surprised to see that this feature could not launch. Any ideas on how best to troubleshoot this issue?

Is the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager activated? If yes, try to deactive first and see if it makes a difference.

What disk are you trying to store the T&D data on? Did you try to change the disk?

I deactivated the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager that I received the same error.

I am trying to store the T&D data on the C: drive. It seems that I am unable to change the drive setting for virtual changes as my external drive (F:) is greyed out (see attached screenshot).

I appreciate your ideas and help Pat.

Yes. T&D supports only storing the information to an internal disk, your other disk is probably a USB disk or similar.

Did you try to activate it after turning off your antivirus? I am not sure this will make a difference...

I would first try to run the ATI installer and to a repair. If this doesn't work, export your backup settings, uninstall ATI, run the clean up utility, reboot, reinstall ATI, reimport your backup settings. This will re-start your backup chains

Disabling AV did not have an effect.

I reinstalled ATI 2011 and that did the trick.
