Failed to Write Data to Archive File

Thread needs solution

Acronis 11 Backup works with USB drive attached to machine, but fails with USB drive attached via network. This happens with the drive attached to another machine on the network and with the drive attached to a NAS enabled router. I believe its a delay issue rather than a true "failure to write" issue, due to going through a network. I'd much prefer to do my backup through my NAS enabled router. Is there a way to extend the delay for write confirmation? Is this fixed in later versions?

thanx,

Do you mean ati2011 or ati11? Ati11 is old enough that you should expect problems on newer hardware -- and the older versions of ati weren't as network savvy as the newer ones. Iirc, there's no way to adjust ati11 in this re.

That was my guess, but I wanted to be sure before I upgraded. Other than that Ati11 meets all my needs.

David,

If and when you upgrade, make sure you create a system backup before you upgrade. Then uninstall the v11, reboot the computer and verify that no Acronis device or startup item is left. Using msconfig, turn off any non-microsoft service or start up item, reboot and then install the upgrade. Make sure to test the 2012 thoroughly on your configuration, including the recovery CD.
