Failing on creating a backup profile: 0x00040007+0x000fff0+0x80070057

Thread needs solution

I started using PC Backup & Recovery True Image 2011 about 2 weeks ago. Today I wanted to recreate my monthly backup profile. I deleted it to re-do it from scratch. I started the backup assistant for a Desktop scheduled backup and when I click on the bottom (where is says by default to start the backup right away) to say do it later (as I wanted to save the profile first), it creates an error pop-up (see in title) and simply doesn't create it.

I tired it 4 times and it is the same results each times. The first time I started playing around with the menus today, I had a different popup saying acronis wasn't running. When I wanted to start it again, nothing happened. I rebooted and re-did the installation (a repair) thinking something got corrupted. The repair said it had finished (without any indications that something was wrong). Then when I wanted to recreate my monthly backup, I had the problem stated above.

programmed failed with : 0x00040007+0x000fff0+0x80070057

acronis help site did not reveal significant informations on them.

Any clue ?

In the mean time I will re-create my monthly backup but at the end, say to start it right away. Maybe that is the only way to do it.

Clicking start backup right now (french version), causes the exact same problem and same error codes. So in other words I can no longer do any backups

Currently generating an Acronis system report. Will attach it when done.

Acronis system report attached.

I have one hard disk splitted into 8 partitions:
C: for Windows Vista (dual boot)
D: for documents (changed my document locations of users to point there but mostly empty)
J: installed games (currently 30% used)
V: video content (currently empty)
M: music content (currently empty)
Z: backup partition used for Acronis only one partition containing Ubuntu 10.04LTS
one partition for linux swap

WIndows paging file is on the J: drive with a fixed 4Gb size

Prior to today, I had managed to create 1 full system backup (before installing games and after all Vista updates) on 2 DVDs. I had also created 2 weekly backups C: + J: +D: on my Z: partition. I deleted those weekly backup to create a monthly backup instead.

Added comments:

I see in the software journal the following logged messages (translated from French):

error in the opening of the script file

an error happened in the opening of the file

the system cannot find the path specified (this one is in English)

Allegato Dimensione
53842-93514.zip 1.88 MB

No one knows what the problem is ?

No one from support answering this ?

So In other words, I bought a software that does not work ?

Hi there,

- Delete all your scheduled tasks by looking at that kb article http://kb.acronis.com/content/1859
- Copy (do not delete) the backup .TIB files you want to keep to another folder using windows explorer.
- Within ATI, delete (not remove from the list) your faulty backup (s). To simplify, you can delete them all.
- Check in c:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts that there is no script left. You can target only the scripts that are faulty, if you didn't want to delete all your backups in the previous step; to check which one(s) to delete/keep, right click on a script to edit it, check the name of the task in the XML, close without saving any changes, decide to delete/keep.
- Setup your backup and the schedule of the backups you kept if any and see if that has solved the problem.

Hello everyone,

I got the same error.
Pat L, i followed each one of your step but still this error....

I even uninstalled acronis, used Ccleaner to clean my pc and reinstalled ATI but when i create a backup this error came back.
Do you have any other suggestions ?

Thank U
Lénian
