What do you mean?

When I folllow the prompts to recover a file, it appears as though I get to a page where you should be able to click ok and something should happen but does not.

To be more helpful, if I want to recover a file, shoud I use;
1-the disc
2-Acronis program on desktop
3-Computer and double click until I find the file
I came here by chance as I though having given the email address to acromis forum it would send me a notification. I'll come back for an answer, hopefully.
Thank you

Peter,
You can use any of the method above, plus one if you are using a disk and partition backup: mounting the image and copying the file in Windows (you cannot mount a file backup or a non-stop backup).

What version are you using? I am still trying to figure out what steps you follow and get stuck with...

If you are looking for the last version of a file, just double click on your last TIB, and you will get the last version.
If you are looking for an older version, use the ATI interface to navigate to the date you need the file from, and use ATI to restore the file.

I have Acronis TI home 2010.
I cannot recreate where I got stuck but will keep trying..
You have been good enough to come back to help that I feel badly.
I know when I use the program and go to the top to partitions I can affect the recover. When I click on file recovery and browse, I get confused. For now, is it better to select a new location or an existing one with writing over?

I thought it fair to give you all I can. I have Win 7 x 64, i5, 6GB
Acronis TI Home 2010.
When I use the cd it is the easiest.
When I use Computer I get to the file but cannot 'recover' within Windows - just copy and paste.
When I use the program and start at top 'recover', it is successful but have not followed thru to know if the last step will be 'recover' or 'copy'.
Lastly and the trouble, is when I click on browse for file recovery. I do full system backups so that maybe why there are no items to display. If I persue and I click on browse I am not sure if I am browsing for the file or the external drive it is on. This way seems to be a dead end in that the page disappears or reverts back to the beginning.
I hope this helps clarify after all you have done for me.
Thank you

When you click on browse, you are supposed to browse to a backup (a TIB file).

In other words, you click on Recovery. If the backup is already in your list, nothing will happen after that browsing. If the backup is not in the list, it will be added.
Then you can pick up the backup in the list, selecting the date/version, then you can select what you want to recover, then you recover.

Hello
Perhaps because I do not do a file back up per se I cannot do a file recovery with the file recovery buttons.
When I click to rcover there is a browse on the right. If I Ibrowse I can get to the backup but if I click to persue further, it disappears. It will not allow me to click next or go to access a file.
I can access the file the other ways but I do remember being able to right click and click "recover" in the past. Now I must copy and paste unless I start with the top recover.
That is what is puzzling me.
I do not expect you to reply forever and am grateful for your help todate. is there something specific I can answer for you?
