Filenames with parentheses don't work

Thread needs solution

When using the Windows program, ATI allows you to create backup filenames dat contain parentheses, like "C-disk (System).tib".
However, this file cannot be accessed when trying to restore using the recovery CD: the Windows version and the Unix version of the recovery CD have obviously different filename restrictions. Very bad to find this out only after recovery has become necessary.

Hello Sansan,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please correct me if I'm wrong:

You have named the archive created with Acronis from within Windows "C-disk (System).tib", when you boot to the CD version, this file is not visible at all. Is that correct?

What is the destination of this backup archive? Could you please let me know the build number of the product, which you can find in the Help -> About dialog (it should be a 3 or 4 digit number)? Could you please provide me with the exact sequence of actions that lead to the issue you report, so that I can try to reproduce it? Could you please make a digital photo of the screen, when the file is not visible from a CD, + screen shot of the same file visible from Acronis started in Windows?

If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.

- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;
- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;
- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;
- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;
- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.
