First full backup created three .tib files

Hi everyone,

I just created the first full backup to an external USB HDD which is formatted as NTFS, for some reason three .tib files have been created, they are

Entire PC (HP1)_full_b1_s1_v1.tib Size 16,318,464 KB
Entire PC (HP1)_full_b1_s1_v2.tib Size 32,768 KB
Entire PC (HP1)_full_b1_s1_v3.tib Size 155,079,355 KB

Is this normal? I haven't used Acronis for a few years, in the past it only ever created a single file.

Also Acronis is reporting the external drive to be 188.22 GB of 440.76 GB free. Windows is reporting the drive as 302GB of 465GB free... Any idea why this is the case?

I don't have the answer but it is not normal. Was the target disk a network disk which connections may have been an issue.

If it were me, the first thing I would do is to check the entire disk for disk errors
and possibly even check the storage disk for disk errors.

I had deliberately set the "notify me when free disk space is less than" notification level very high because I wanted to test the email notification function. It looks like when this notification was triggered the backup process was stopped and when I selected ignore the process was restarted and a new file was created, for some reason I was prompted to ignore the notification more than once. Strangely it looks like the last time I selected ignore a new file was not created. I guess this explains why there are multiple files, but I am still not sure why the free disk space is being reported incorrectly by Acronis. I am testing the HDD with MHDD now.
