Full disk image backup recovery to new HD fails
I bought Acronis True Image 2014 to backup my failing HD. I created a disk backup 950
gb in size on an external usb drive 2 TB in size. After installing a new 3TB hd drive in my computer I used the Acronis Boot disk to recover the image. I was not successful using the recovery functions but I created a clone and after 4 hours it was finished. I removed the acronis disk and restarted and I got an error message NTLDR is missing. After looking around online I tried several fixes for this including using my Windows 7 64 bit installation disk to repair that failed, I also tried at the command prompt a series of fixboot commands which revealed that no Windows installation existed. When I checked the contents both drives all the folders on the source disk had been cloned even though I selected the .tib file only.
At this point I could really use some help
.Does anyone know what went wrong?
