Full disk restore
I have a TIB file that is a FULL backup of a drive in my HP All-In-On. When I select the items to recover I select "Disk 1" which contains four items 1 - "NTFS (OS) (C:), 2 - "NTFS (HP_RECOVERY) (D:)", 3 - MBR and Track 0" and 4 - NTFS (SYSTEM) and I want to recover all four items. thus by selecting Disk 1 all four items are selected and I click on the Next button.
I'm now presented with a screen "Specify recovery settings of Partition 1-1" what the heck is partition 1-1?
I tried to find a description of this in the UG and was not able to find anything that seemed to match what was being presented to me.
On this screen it states "Partition location (required)" (again I have no idea what the heck is being recovered at this point, e.g. Partition 1-1 means. When I click on the "New Location" link I get a new screen showing (1) the USB drive that contains the TIB file this is identified as Disk 1, (2) Disk 2 - the thumbdrive, this is the drive I booted from, (3) Disk 3 (this is the drive I want to recover to but it shows two locations (a) NTFS (SYSTEM) (D:) Pri, Act and (b) NTFS (OS) (E:) Pri and I'm forced to pick one. But not knowing what the heck Partition 1-1 is or how big it is I have no idea what to select.
In that I'm attempting to recover the entire drive I expected to select "the" target drive and TI would then start the recovery process. IMHO something that should be super simple has become super complex.
I then went to Tools and Utilities expecting to see a utility that would delete the partitions and all I see is DriveCleanser. I suspect this would do this but it will take a LONG time in that it will be performing a triple pass overwrite. So I selected the "Fast" method and TI reports that it will take 1 HR 6 minutes (1 TB drive). So much for FAST.
Needless to say I'm not a happy camper at this point.
