Getting Full Backup Instead of Incremental
Hello,
I recently upgraded to True Image 2012 from 2011, then immediately upgraded to the 2012 Plus Pack when I discovered that my hard drive had been formatted as a dynamic drive.
The new format has me totally flustered. With the 2011 version, I did the original Full Backup, then when I wanted to create a backup, I'd just highlight the most recent Incremental Backup and do a more recent Incremental Backup.
I've done a Full Backup with the 2012 Plus Pack, but now when I try to make an Incremental Backup it makes ANOTHER FULL BACKUP. It actually SAYS "Incremental Backup" before I initiate the backup, but that's not what it does.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks.

GroverH,
Thanks - I'll try this.
BTW, I was definitely getting multiple Full Backups, as they were actually slightly larger in size than the original Full Backup.
Should I erase the Full Backup I previously made and start fresh before doing this? Or perhaps even reformat the hard drive first?

A reformat is not necessary--at least not for this problem.
No, never erase a working backup until you have a good replacement. One mistake too often made is to delete a backup too quickly. Keep it until you absolutely must due to space restrictions. Having more than one backup storage disk makes for more peace of mind than having all your backups on one disk.
Create a new task using the new settings and point the storage to a new folder--dedicated to this task. Each task should have its own folder or sub-folder. My recommendation is never to mix backups from different tasks into the same folder. Acronis says you can but in practice, it is not a good idea.
when you want a new backup created.,. either set up a schedule; or if you don't want a schedule, then create a desktop shortcut (via edit backup settings) or open the program and use the "Backup now" option when you want a new backup created.
Look inside the log file and see how the log describes the backup in size question. Or, post a copy of the log file for us to examine.
Below is two illustrations showing how to view backup files as to their type of backup. If you reproduce these pictures, the files listed at the bottom of the last picture should display the type of backup via the right click on the file name.
