GUI not showing all folders for ProFTPd server

Thread needs solution

In this article: http://kb.acronis.com/content/1843 you can read that ProFTPd is not supported because MLDS and MLTS commands are not supported.

Well this was true, in the dark ages. Now it is perfectly supported, but I'm still having problems connecting to an ProFTPd server. Sometimes it does not show all folder, sometimes I need to restart the FTP server just to get the correct folder, but then it will not select the correct folder.
After reselecting the ftp connection, it then will show not all folders or files etc ...

So it is definitly bugged. Is there a way to fix this? Or is Acronis working on this? This is a number #1 reason we are going to buy Acronis yes or no because of the Qnap NAS's we install use ProFTPd.

Kind regards,
Lars

Hello Lars,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here.

I've checked with the development team: there are no known issues between ATIH2012 and ProFTPd server, and it should look fine. The problem looks to be related more to some network or FTP server glitch.

Do you mind sending us the following information?

  1. The logs
  2. Ftp model and OS
  3. Wireshark
  4. Acronis info

This info can shed the light onto the situation.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you.

Hello,

I'm also experiencing problems with plain network shares. Folders are gone missing or can't be accessed, while the credentials are in order, and I'm able to connect through the share with windows explorer.

It's obvious this product has to many issues to be used in a production environment. I will scratch Acronis from my list and continue to look for better solutions. This topic can be closed, thanks!

Kind regards,
Lars
