help bluescreen after image restore
I'am using True image home 2012. my harddrive crashed. I replaced it with a new one. created boot-cd (from home2012 cd not pluspack) and restored image windows7 64bit from usb-drive. after restart the windows-starting animation appears, then after a few seconds a bluescreen with stop: 0x0000007B appears. tried with two different backup-files of c, same result.
please help.

Boot to your Windows 7 System Repair disk, or your Windows 7 installation disk and run startup repair. You may have to run startup repair more than once for it to correct your problem.

Make sure that your BIOS settings have not changed. Did you restore the entire disk or did you restore only a partition? Is your new disk preformatted? Has it been formatted as a GPT disk or MBR disk?
This type of error points at a change in boot records or disk settings.

The new disc is preformatted and I try to restore one of two partitons. I have formatted both partitons during the Windows 7 installation. The Windows-7 bootmanager appears and aks which of the two Windows 7 I would like to boot. that never happend before. The first one ends with bluescreen the second with a menu that says windows 7 has a problem. So the Bootsection has a problem. I tried formatting with the Acronis tool, but did not realy know what i was doing. Tried to initialize the MBR, same result.
I have not changed the bios, but the new disc might have caused a change.
I tried two older images, same result. I don't know if the image is ok or not. The Product validated the image without errors.

That sounds as though you did a Clone rather than a Backup and Restore. Windows doesn't like seeing two Windows installations in the same system, and will cripple at least one. As Windows doesn't allow multiple bootable installations, results will be unpredictable.

I talked to the guy who changed the disc. he changed the bios settings from ide to another value. I just changed it back and now windows starts. The Programs work, but the explorer has a problem: server execution failed.
MS help topics say the user is corrupted. I try to create a new one, the description of the process is longer.
any< idea how to remove the second windows-entry in the boot menu.
THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR HELP!

Open msconfig.exe and go to the boot tab. Delete the Windows installation that is not current.
