How can I delay the start of an existing backup?
Hi,
I find that Acronis True Image Home works best on my 2TB WD World Edition NAS when I carry out one backup at a time. If I'm doing this in the evening, and 'backup 1' has 1hr 30min left to go, then before I go to bed I'd like to start 'backup 2' to start in 2 hours time, 'backup 3' to start in 4 hours time and so on. Each backup is for different media folders (music, videos, pictires etc.).
When creating a brand new backup I have the option to: 'backup now', 'In 1hrs', 'In 2hrs', 'In 4 hrs', 'In 6 hrs' and 'Later' but I don't have this option with my existing file backup processes - all I can do is choose 'backup now'.
Why is there no delayed start option? It means that I can't make the most of the 8 or so hours when the NAS is not in use overnight by timing one backup to commence after another.
Am I missing something? I don't want to create every backup from scratch every time I want to do this. The schedule mode requires a daily, weekly or monthly timetable and has no function for a single delayed start.
Thanks
Brett

You can start them all at the same time but the order in which they are executed is arbitary. You will also not be able to automatically shutdown your system when the last task completes as no matter what boxes are checked it will not happen.
Along with that from what I can see the scheduler database also gathers more and more unwanted entries. e.g.
2-3 *TrueImageHomeNotify* /shutdown_now
2-4 *TrueImageHomeNotify* /shutdown_now
2-5 *TrueImageHomeNotify* /shutdown_now
2-6 *TrueImageHomeNotify* /shutdown_now

Thanks Ray - I'll just click 'backup now' on all of them next time and then leave the software to manage the rest!
