How can I monitor the transfer rate on Win 7/USB 3 to external HDD in R/T?
Hi all,
I am using a new Windows 7 box with USB 3.0 ports connected to a USB 3.0 external HDD.
How can I monitor the data transfer rate in of the TI-2013 backup to the external USB HDD in real time?
Any suggestions?
TIA :-)
P.S. This would be great if implemented into TI-2013!

Hi.
Using perfmon is a bit confusing, especially in this case.
Does anybody else have any ideas?
TIA :-)

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the suggestion. I do know what you are speaking of and I appreciate it. Unfortunately it is just a very rough estimate.
Acronis would do well placing a feature like this on the Progress Indicator bar during a system backup to another drive or partition.
I can get an idea of USB 3.0 throughput though, by transferring a 10 GB folder and watcing the stats in the "show more details" type dropdown box. You can see this by clicking on it during the file folder transfer in Windows 7.
Cheers!
Compumind :-)

If you do find a utility to monitor the transfer rate, I would appreciate knowing about it! Please post a link here to it if you do locate one.

It's not real time but if you're interested in a comparison ...
I take the size of my backup file when it's finished and divide by the time shown in the log file that it took to create the backup. I have a similar set up as you (Win7, USB 3) and my last backup of 171,347 MB took 30 minutes & 30 seconds to complete. Average transfer rate = 93.6 MB/s.
This was a system image of 1 SSD with OS & Programs and 1 spinner hdd with data. The files on the SSD account for 35 - 40% of the total backup.
