How to convert/produce VMware virtual machine from Acronis TrueImage Home 11.0 & 2010?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have moved from WinXP x32 to Win7 x64. Now I realize one of my most needed development tools cannot be installed on a .Windows x64. Since I have TIB images from my previous XP installation I'd like to use it wioth the VMware Player when needed.

How to achieve this? - The VMware vCenter Converter 5.00 reports error when pointed to open TIB files produced by TruImageHome versions 10.0 and 2010...?!? I cannot find an "export" option in the TrueImageHome other than the Windows VHD format in the version 2010.

Can anybody help me on this? - I cannot deal with clean XP installation and all the driver issues...

Thanks in advance,

I have version 4.3 of the VMWare vCenter Converter and it was able to convert TI version 10 images to VMWare VMDK format. The older converter version is still available here: http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/converter430/dGhiZEB0ZWJkd2V3

If that doesn't work, do you still have the Windows XP computer? If so, run the vCenter Converter on this physical WinXP computer to produce a VMDK format file.

If the Windows XP computer is the one that you have upgraded to Win7, then do you have a spare hard disk? If so, remove the Win7 disk from the PC and put it aside for safekeeping. Install the spare disk and restore one of your Windows XP images to it. Then run the VMWare vCenter Converter on the physical XP machine to produce a VMDK format virtual disk.

One of these methods should work.
