How do I free up space on my account?
Online Backup says I'm using 109GB on one of my PC's which WAS reasonable as I did enough backups to actually use that space, about a week ago. I have since then clicked 'X delete" in the Online Backup folders and have also de-selected the big folders in "what to backup". I've done a few online backups since then, hoping the space would be returned to my pool. My "free space" now shows 15GB, so I would like all my deleted files to be shown as deleted. If I try Recover, they don't show, so I feel my "used" space should be MUCH less.

This article didn't work for me, but you can try it: http://kb.acronis.com/content/8601
. After I did that the free space was still wrong and then he told me to wait 24-48 hours (what a pain in the ass). Acronis really needs to make running out of disk space more informative and fixable.

Based on ZERO support from Acronis, the company we pay for True Image AND annually for Online Backup, I decided to try to solve the problem myself.
You may remember Online Backup reported 109GB in use on one of my pc's. I did about 80GB of actual backups and know the "previous versions" of files did not take 29GB. About a week ago I "X" (Delete) a huge folder, but the 109GB was still in use. I really needed that re-claimed space, so a few days ago decided to "X" (remove from online storage) the whole pc. I then put that pc back in and selected several folders for online backup. I selected roughly 4GB of files and did a few "backup now". All the folders are still selected to be backed up, but many of them are not being backed up. Actually, 1.4GB of the roughly 4GB I've selected are backed up. This program is not doing what it should.
Then you throw in the other complication of Win7 not shutting as soon as it should, it reports "Operations are still in progress, Please wait". This started about a week ago, and I noticed I'm getting the error "Last backup failed". Since I deleted this pc from my backup list and re-added it, the shutdown problem has gone away. I am still getting "Last backup failed", even though if I click "Backup Now" and get "Online Backup successfully completed.
One of the reasons I was willing to delete this pc & re-add it is because, in parallel (at a different time of the day) I've also been running idrive. FANTASTIC program. They give you 5GB free online backup. It never had a glitch, runs flawlessly.
So, bottom line, Online Backup is not running the way it should and we have no support from Acronis. My online subscription runs out very soon, so, unless we get good support from Acronis, I will just let it run out and continue with idrive. They sell a bigger quota for a little over Acronis's cost, but it works as it should.

Ditto; I can't delete backed up files. It lists no files backed up, but shows only 16GB free. I tried to back up anyway thinking maybe the free space display was in error, but after 24 hours, the backup was hung up.
I've been communicating with "support" via email for a month now with nothing at all being resolved. It doesn't even seem like I'm talking to a human. I pretty much get back canned answers no matter what I say. My first message said clearly I tried deleting all files, then the response I get back is to delete all files. Then after a few times, the responses just repeat. I was just told again to delete all files.
I'm about to give up on this and try out IDrive. I already tried HP (which went belly up) and Carbonite (which took ridiculously long to backup).
It's too bad because the regular Acronis backup that I've been using for years works so well.

Follow up to my previous message. Someone did finally call me from Acronis. After checking a few things, he had me delete the computer from the online backup. This appears to work. Not sure why they didn't have me try that to being with. I backed up some large files, then tried deleting some and the space was freed up. I then tested recovering some files and that also was successful. So for now at least, it appears to be working properly.

I spoke too soon. I once again am unable to free up space. It shows the files deleted, but space is still taken up. Furthermore, the program crashes when I attempt to backup now. Rebooting didn't help. I give up. I am cancelling my subscription.
