How do I know my computers are backed up??
Is there a way to tell at a glance (without going into the logs) if my different computers are fully backed up?
I also use Carbonite, when my files are fully backed up, there would be a big green indicator that says "your system is fully backed up" You can have peace of mind at a glance.
I have two computers registered. They both show at the top tabs. Both have Red console monitors (what does that mean). One has a red progress bar, and the other has a purple progress bar (what does that mean). Both progress bars ar all the way to the end. Does that mean all the files are backed up?? Shoud't the progress bars indicate how much is backed up (i.e. 80% or such)?
The documentation is very scant and does not show what things mean.
With acronis Chat support told me I had to go into the logs and search for a "task complete" to find out if my back up is complete? That woun't do.

Bin, I can look at the logs also, but it just frustrates me to no end when companies put out products out there that are missing simple features. What would it hurt to put clear indicators on the scrren or task bar that tell you the status of your backup? Carbonite does it, a nice clear task bar icon that tells you the status at a glance. Very intuitive. Carbonite also places a small dot by each file icon that is selected for backup. Yellow means the file is not backed up yet, Green, means this file is backed up. No questions, no going through logs. You can look at any file and see that YES, THIS IS BACKED UP.
I switched to Acronis because I can backup multiple computers and access the files from anywhere, which you can not do with Carbonite.
Don't get me going on the progress indicator, I don't know why it is there as it is completely useless.

I do agree with you Nabil. As a former software developer myself I always wanted to make the user interface as user friendly and as informative as possible, most times going over and above any original specifications. Of course what is under the hood has to work perfectly but the user only sees the interface and that is crucial to their perception of the package. Although I have been using Acronis software for quite a while and it has saved me a whole lot of effort and trouble in that time, on screen indications have never been a strong point.
I'm sure Acronis will pick up on this as you aren't the only one mentioning this kind of thing. I sure don't want to get you going on the progress indicator lol, but I have no idea what a purple bar means, perhaps it is to distinguish between the two machines maybe.

If you have any color you have more than I do. Mine just stays blank and yes I have told tech support about it.

Can anyone tell me how to do a simple complete backup of my system (C:/) hard drive? I don't want incremental, I don't want all the other BS. I just want to be able to restore my complete system, including windows and all software to an external drive. I thought it would be easy but I don't have any idea what the damn thing is doing. It said it was backing up but when that finished it left an icon in the lower right tray with a bubble saying something about system backing up. Is that a separate thing or part of the same backup process? I would like a series of simple 1,2,3... steps of what to set in order to acheive this.
Help, I am drowning in this "SIMPLE TO USE" program.
Thanks,
Ron

All I have to say, is run for your life! I hastled with this thing for over a year. Spent hours with support, created logs for them, and it never actually backed up everything and support could not make it do it either. I am no novice, but this "easy to use software" brought me to my knees. I gave up and canceled my account.
