I have:
laptop runs vista
ati home 2010
250gb drive hdd (partitioned to c111 63 free and d110 110 free)
64gb crucial realssd c300
usb 500 gb hdd

I wanna move vista on hdd to ssd how to do it and bootable?

Hello Jame,

Let me assist you.

To move your Windows installation to SSD drive you need to do the following:

  • First of all you need to create a correct alignment on your SSD drive by using any 3rd-party software. Partition offset should be started at 2048 sector. Please see this guide.
  • Please create an image of your system Vista partition using Acronis True Image and save it to your external USB drive.
  • Create Acronis Bootable Media. See Chapter 15 of the User's Guide for more information.
  • Remove your old drive and install a new SSD
  • Boot off Acronis Bootable Media and restore your archive. Please do not resize the partition during the restoration since it may corrupt the correct partition alignment and restored Windows won't boot.
