How does Acronis True Image handles software licences

Thread needs solution

Hello:

As the title says let's say that I have 8 similar but not exactly the same toshiba laptops who have a valid licence for MS Office 2010 and of course the operating system (Windows XP).

These laptops were pre loaded with a set of applications that all of the users will utilize.

Some of those laptops may have different amounts of RAM, different video card, chipset, etc.

If I get an image of one of the laptops(baseline) how would Acronis True Image handle the deploying it into the other laptops in case one of them crashes?

Should I re-activate the OS and MS Office with their respectively licences manually?

Thanks and help is greatly appreciated,

From an Acronis licensing perspective, you need one ATIH license per computer that you backup or restore.
From a Microsoft licensing perspective, OEM licenses are typically bound to a particular computer and cannot be transferred, and retails licenses are typically supposed to run on a single computer image, so you would have to reactivate Office and Windows with their original licenses.
I am not a licensing lawyer, so I am sharing my own understanding and you shouldn't consider the above as legal advice: do your own research with your vendors.
From an Acronis technical perspective, you will need the Plus Pack plugin installed in ATIH before you can produce a CD that includes the Universal Restore feature that allows you to restore to a different hardware set (motherboard, disk controller).
