How to Extract Acronis True Image 8.0 Backup

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I found a backup of one of my old computers that was spread across several discs. Each disc has a .tib file on it except for one which is labeled "Recovery Manager" and has these six files:

bootmenu.exe
bootwiz.sys
f11.cfg
mouse.com
kernal.dat
ramdisk.dat

There is also a readme.txt file that contained information about Acronis True Image 8.0 which leads me to assume that was the version this backup was created with. I tried running the .exes in the same folder as the .tib files on my XP virtual machine since they don't work on Windows 7 but nothing happened.

Looking across the forum, it seems only Arconis software can identify the .tib files, but does that mean I have to buy the software all over again. I just tried a trial of the latest version and it said my .tib files were corrupt or in use by another program when they weren't. I'm stumped on how to get the files of my backup back.

Does anyone know how to get this backup extracted?
