How to get Plus pack if you already have a 2011 home version.
I purchased a 2011 home family pack before the free plus pack offer.
I don't want to buy another 2011 home version, just the plus pack.
All I can find is an upgrade from an older edition which includes the plus pack.
What do I buy?
Alternatively, I have an old XP system running the version that was bundled with Western Digital hard drives. Can I use a $29 upgrade for that, and get the plus pack included?
If I do that, will I be able to restore backups from other systems made using the 2011 version on dissimlar harware using the restore that comes with the upgrade?
Thanks in advance,
Geoff.

The Plus Pack will set you about $30 back. It is only a plug-in and requires the corresponding version of ATI.
I don't think the Plus Pack works with the OEM version of ATI, but you have to verify with customer support. Use the chat window to get a fast answer.
Probably yes. Universal Restore is not for the faint of heart but is always worth a try since the only alternative is to reinstall *everything*. The typical problem with UR is to find the right drivers in their .inf or .oem versions (disk controllers, chipsets). If UR fails, you can fix the installation with the Windows installation DVD.

Thanks everyone. I did some more forum searching and found a posting with instructions for the Maxtor, Seagate and WD versions, but only contained links for the Maxtor and Seagate upgrades. Then I found a posting about the WD version, which addressed the situation, but from a different point of view.
The procedure is to go to the WD website and download and install the latest WD version (WD hard drive required). Then you buy a regular upgrade from the previous version which now includes the Plus Pack.
You upgrade the WD version to the regular version using the upgrade serial number you get when you buy it, and then do the same with the PlusPack (which has it's own serial number).
What surprised me is that when I bought the upgrade (tonight), it gave me download links. I downloaded started the installation, and in both cases it downloaded newer versions.
However. now I have a fully up to date system with the plus pack for far less than buying it again.
Thanks,
Geoff.

Geoff,
You should uninstall a previous version instead of installing in place. The in-place upgrade should work, but there are often issues.
Before you install the new version, you could move your existing TIB files to a hidden folder: that way, ATI will not list all the existing backups if it triggers a scan.
