Thread needs solution

How may I backup a mobil Samsung S4, connected with USB with acronis 2015?

For several reasons I dislike to use Sansung Kies 3 for that, because I need a better control about document access.

Its not shown in acronis drive selection, as all other isb devices are shown.

Peter

Your Samsung drive not showing up like your other USB devices may be related to a driver issue that exists between the TI 2015 app and Seagate USB externally attached drives as Samsung uses Seagate brand drives in their devices. See the link below for more on this.

Hi,
my Samsung S4 drives are shown correct in any oher application but not in acronis. ....
Seams Acronis does not support such kind of usb mobil connections.

If the S4 could connect as a mass storage device, then True Image could probably back it up. Unfortunately it only connects through MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) or PTP (Picture Transfer Protocol). When using either connection a drive letter is not assigned so it doesn't show up on Acronis' device selection list. There is an Acronis True Image app on Google Play, but it doesn't look like it does much.

If you are not seeing the drive when running TI 2015 from within Windows then you could have an issue with outdated USB drivers or USB connection problems. If you are attempting to use USB 3.0 connection I suggest that you try a USB 2.0 connection instead. Also most of the time attached USB drives tend to work better when attached directly to a motherboard port than through a hub or case mounted connection if you are using a desktop machine.

Of course shows the drive in the drive folder, although its shown in Acrnis, BUT yiu cant mark it, th "x" disapears immediatly, you can' drill down.
It's NOT a driver problem from S4, it' not an USB2/2 problem.

Peter,

There are many solutions for backup of Android devices. Below are some links that may prove helpful. Acronis is way overkill for such chores.

Backup Samsung S4 . Need to connect your samsung on computer .And need to install USB drivers .

Haqwtt Ha,

Not sure what your question is.  Windows 7 and up will install automatically the appropriate MTP or PTP drivers so that access to an Android device is possible.

True Image 2016 now has Mobil backup for Android devices whereas True Image 2015 did not offer such support.  Maybe an upgrade to 2016 is what you need.
