How to migrate a single boot drive to RAID 0

Thread needs solution

I am trying to move from one Vertex 3 to 2 in RAID 0. My system is backed up using Acronix Home 2012. I have been unable to boot my system after a restore to the RAID drives. I first disconnected all other drives, then secure erased both Vertex 3 drives. I then configured the SATA 3 RAID using the P67 ports on my Gigabyte GA-P67-UD7-B3 board. I then boot into Acronis and do a restore. I first restored the hidden partition and the boot partition and then the MBR so that I could size the boot partition correctly. I am restoring Win 7 64.

Upon booting I get a blue screen that tells me, "Windows has been shut down to prevent damage."

Is there a way to migrate from straight IDE single drive installation to a RAID 0 without having to re-install Windows 7? A reinstall takes me several days to get everything back on the system and configured so I want to avoid that if possible!

System details:

MB = GA-0P67A-UD7-B3
BIOS = F7 (latest)
DDR3 = 16GB at 1600
CPU = Sandy Bridge i7 @ 4.2GHz (33C at idle and 55C at full)
cooling = liquid
video = 2 NVidia GTX470

HI John,
Are you using the Plus Pack version of ATIH?

Merely restoring a single disk image to a new array doesn't typically work.
Some have had success using Universal Restore
Some using a WinPE boot Disk
Others have used VHD

Key Items:
Boot media must see the RAID 0 array as a single disk
New array must be created in BIOS (RAID Config Utility)
BIOS settings for controller operate mode and boot must be setup

If the drive is already using AHCI/RAID driver for the current setup, it might be possible to restore this mage to the new array without drivers. You will still however, need to use the Universal Restore feature during the restore proces.  The disk should be restored one partition at a time...  System Reserved (if applicable), Boot, MBR...  this allows you to resize.
