How much resources does Acronis use + why does it need to be installed in my bootup?
Can someone tell me how much resources Acronis uses?
Why is it necessary to have installed on my machine and always running?
Why is it necessary to have installed in my 'bootup' - i.e. not just installed in the OS but also be part of the boot?
Thanks
Omar

I believe James provided the relevant answers.
If you don't want anything running or installed on your PC, you could always do your backups via the Acronis True Image bootable Recovery Media (Rescue Media).

@james, @tuttle thanks for the replies guys
i didn't know there was a reply from james - the reply i had made was actually on another post that i had made that had no reply
odd that it ended up in this thread!
my laptop has 2 ids
mine and someone elses
my id will take 2 - 3 minutes to damn load! (and that's with an SSD drive - it used to take 5+ minutes)
the other id - that doesn't have all the other programs i have loading, loading - takes 60 - 90 seconds to load
just trying to figure out what is hogging my system
the way i see it, acronis true image doesn't seem to be there for my needs!
if i can figure out how to boot off a usb stick, then i should be ok
(that was one of my other threads for which i've just seen there are some replies that i didn't know where there!)
