How to restore Operating System and Boot in Windows 7 home 64 bit?

Thread needs solution

I have never done this before, but I have a Virus I can't remove. I need to format Drive C: I have Acronis True Image 2012. I have an Image file for each month with a Boot Partition and Drive C: partition made as one Image File. Is this the correct way to create the Image of Win 7?
I want to be sure that this is correct so after I format I will successfully be able to restore the system to an earlier Image that will boot.

Thank You
Hal

Click on liink #3 below and either item #1 or 2 should suffice. The #2 would be the easiest.

You indicate you have a backup of 2 partitions. Does your disk contain more any partitions which were NOT included within the backup? Your partitiion structure can be viewed from within the Windows Disk Management graphical view.
