How to set password
I want to password protect backup. Instructions I can find say to enter password in the password box. Where in the world in THAT? I have searched through the manual and cannot find a SIMPLE explanation as to where and how the password is set.

That suxs. I wanted to do the same. Given that your post is from 2011, almost 5 years ago, one might think that Acronis could get around to fixing this dumb programming deficiency by now! But noooooooooooooooo.
So now I have to recreate each backup job that does not already have a password.
Thanks Acronis!

Hello Joe,
Thank you for your posting. I'd like to provide some information on this limitation. Archive`s encryption and compression are properties of a backup chain that cannot be changed due to internal restrictions and structure of True Image Backup (.TIB) format, we provide a warning about this in the documentation. These properties must remain the same across the whole chain, otherwise the link between different parts of backup chain would not work.
This restriction was extended further and changes to these settings were prohibited after backup task has been created for the first time. That was done to prevent issues in a scenario when backup job starts by schedule while user is editing its settings.

Why not just stop the above situation from being possible if that would allow the user to add a password? That would be a better solution.
