Howto: remove only 1x differential backup but leave the initial full, & other differential images intact?

Thread needs solution

As the title states, I want to remove the final differential backup from a chain of images without risking the integrity of the backup.

How to do this in ATIH2014? The 2011 version was simple: just open the chain & remove the final image. Thanks.

Please don't say follow the manual & press the delete button: I don't want to lose all my backups in the chain. Which is what is worded when you do press delete.

As per this link, once you have all the diff listed as these incremental are listed, then you can RIGHT click on the last dif and choose the delete option. You will be prompted for a confirm.

How to delete backup files using Acronis Backup 'Explorer'

It might be a good idea to validate after the delete and respond to any prompts such as ignore if it asks about the prior deletion.

Thanks for the fast reply. I can now backup my latest image. Just about my last from my Xmas HTPC upgrade.

It seems somewhat backward to have to open the 'recover files' to access the expanded view of the image chain, for option purposes when, under 2011 version, you could simply double-click the chain on the home screen.

If software engineers were taught to think in obvious real-world terms, you guys would not be nearly as busy.
