I am tearing my hair out.

Thread needs solution

Acronis 2010
I went to do a back up yesterday, and it said the install was corrupted, so I went to the Acronis site to download and reinstall the program, when I tried it said that I had to uninstall the previous version, which I did through add & remove.
After that I still had the same error.
So I downloaded the Acronis uninstaller and devcon and mizap.exe and ran the uninstaller, after that it still said that a previous version was installed and to remove it.
As I had already done that i fired up regedit and spent an hour deleting all the keys relating to Acronis and still had the same error that there is a previous version and to uninstall it.

Is there an answer to this, all I want is for my purchased program to work.
I have now run out of things to try, can anyone help.

Al,

Try the Revo Uninstaller. Several users have had success with this tool

I cannot use Revo as I have already uninstalled the program, so there is something left that is stopping me reinstalling the program, but where to look, regedit deleted all the files accredited to acronis and also after reading the FAQ's uninstalled the entry in device manager.

The only other option is to do a fresh install of Windows 7, but for one program, it is not worth it.
Is it to much to ask for a program that I have payed for to work.

As I have had it just over a year, I am not entitled to payed for support.

Al,

With Revo, you can do a force install, in the advanced mode, enter Acronis as a look up text. Review carefully the registry keys before "fixing" them.
