I can't update builds

Thread needs solution

I have true image home 2012 with plus pack update 2 build 7119. I see that build 7133 was released. When I download and run it, it says I have the newest build. If i run check for updates within the program, it says the same thing. Which is the newest build and why won't it update?

Welcome Tony,
I just posted to another thread regarding this issue and believe it might help with your issue as well.

Thanks. After uninstalling both the plus pack and program and reinstalling both it was fine.

I have Acronis True Image Home 2012 Build 7119 installed on my desktop and notebook computers. I downloaded Build 7133 and when I execute it an Acronis TIH2012 window opens and checks for the latest version. It says I have the latest and asked if I want to Retry checking. The I start Acronis and have it check for updates it says I have the latest version.

So I can't update. Neither has or ever has had Plus Pack. The Notebook never had a prior version of Acronis.

I read in another problem that the Acronis window that opens not only falsely tells you "The version you are trying to install is the latest" but in addition you can ignore the message and click "Install new version" and it will install it anyway. After installation (it says you have to reboot) the window changes and offer Modify Installation, Repair Installation or Remove Acronis True Image Home 2012.

In my case, I did click install. It looked like it did something real quick, but it didn't update anything until I uninstalled and reinstalled.

Hi,

I have Acronis True Image Home 2012 Plus Pack update 2 build 7119. I saw that build 7133 was released. When I use the option for checking new update, it says that I have the latest release !

I tried to download only Acronis True Image 2012 Plus Pack (build 7133, size 63.8 Mo) but it always stay with build 7119 !

Why ?

Br

Yann,

Uninstall the Plus Pack, then uninstall ATi, use the cleanup utility found here http://kb.acronis.com/content/24545 , use msconfig to disable all non-Microsoft services and all start up items, reboot, reinstall 2012, then the Plus pack. Put msconfig back to normal startup.

Hi,

question : and what about my setup ? How to save my configurated backups ?

Br

Oups...

I found the solution by using the option export your parameters in the tools tab ?

Yes. This is it.

That said, I'd recommend that you move your existing TIB files to another director for safekeeping. This will force ATI to start new fulls. After a while, you might decided to delete the kept TIB manually. To avoid any confusion, disable the scan for archive files in the backup list options.
