I want to recover files backed up from a different computer
Hello
I have a computer at home that uses Win7 and acronis TrueImage-11 Home. I am on the road using a different computer that has WXP for an OS.
Is it possible to recover a single file from this backup?
I'm getting "file corrupted" messages.

Are you using version 11 or version 2011?
Have you tried to recover the file when booted from the TI Recovery CD?
You might also use the CD to validate the backup.

I think I am out of luck. I just remembered that I upgraded Acronis on my home computer and that's what I used to create the backup I am trying to read with Acronis TI 11 on my wife's computer. Different OS, Different version of TI, different computer. No Hope.

One option might be to visit your personal Acronis webpage and download the 2014 ISO FILE and after downloading, burn the iso file onto a new CD.
This would provide a Recovery CD of the same version used to create the file.

I went to what I think is my personal home page, but can't find anything that allows me to download an ISO file. Help, please

Thanks for the info. Sorry to seem so dumb. I found a file to download and it would take over an hour, so I need to be sure of what I'm doing, since I have a limited bandwidth to work with. . I found
Latest Build: #8101 (138.93 MB2008-07-03 16:48:05)
MD5: 4a0aed8ece1569a1b1986c748ec33af8.
Is this what you are suggesting I build an ISO file from? it's been awhile since I tried to build an ISO file and I would appreciate some "how to" advice. Thanks.

No, the file you show is the main installation file and it is not what you want.
Look at the middle section of this link. Note the bootable media download which is much smaller.
Note on the extreme right of the middle section is also the name of the file (just below the download button)

After you download the ISO FILE (FILE ending with ISO extension), this will need to be burnt to CD.
If I am understanding correctly, you have a computer with XP so you will probably need download a disc burning program such as the free IMGBURN.
Once you have installed IMGBURN, then you can RIGHT click on the ISO fie and choose the "open with" option and select IMGBURN as the open with burn program.

I went to the Acronis "my account" page and navigated to Acronis TI 11, where I found TrueImage11_S_EN.iso. Got the ISO file created, but realized that the file I am trying to recover was created with TI 2013. So looked for TI 2013 ISO file and didn't find one. What do I do now?

If you registered the serial for the 2013 verssion, the iso will be listed.
If you did not register, you can contact the forum mderator at this link and send her a private message asking for assistance to supplying you the number so it can be registered.

I did register my 2013 software and bootable media is found. It's an ISO file about 380 MB. (ATI2013en-us.iso) I'm downloading it and it's going to take an hour. There's nothing else available, so I guess this is the one I want.

Downloaded the 2013 ISO file and created a boot disk. Got what I needed. Thank you, so much, for your help. Good job.
