Image is currupt! Need help!
I backed up my laptop using Acronis onto my unRAID server. I later opened the image file in R/W mode to get to the files I needed, and it was taking forever on the old laptop when I changed permissions to get into the user folder. I cancelled out, unmounted the image, and then deleted the 2nd file created by Acronis, so I could start from scratch on a different PC. But now it's saying the image is corrupt, and needs that 2nd file! I'm pretty sure I messed up, but is there any way to get that image open w/o that 2nd file?
TIA!
Jason

You might also try copying or renaming the image file (use Explorer) so TI doesn't have track of it and then see if TI will see it properly. Deleting the Incremental shouldn't render the image corrupt.

I am unable to validate no matter what I try. Anytime I try to pick the original backup file in Windows or from the Acronis CD I get this message:
This is not the last created volume of the backup archive. Please insert the last created volume to start working with this archive.
And if I then select Next I get this message in a pop-up dialog box:
Selected file is not Acronis True Image Home archive or is corrupted. Please select another backup archive.
I've tried renaming and moving the tib file, but no luck yet.
Anymore ideas?

You have tried pretty much everything and I am afraid you are out of luck.

I'm looking at running a rebuild tree on my unRAID server to get the 2nd image file back. Hopefully, I'll be successful. Thanks for all the help so far!

Were you able to rebuild the 2nd part of the imate or completely solve your archive problem?

I ran the rebuild tree, and after it was finished I had a bunch of files with weird file names and no extensions. Looking at the dates and file sizes I deduced which one should be the 2nd image file, renamed it appropriately, and put into the correct folder. After that Acronis let me open the original image file!
