Imaging from hard disk to SSD with ATIH 2010 for WIN 7-64
I have read quite a bit on the issues of imaging a standard mechanical hard drive to SSD as there might be issues with partition alignment. The more I read the more confused I get as there are conflicting reports on that one shouldn't bother to do that to begin with as the SSD won't be working efficiently afterwards while other reports suggest that this is no different from imaging a standard HD to another. Even other threads give instructions on how to adjust for the partition offset between the two devices.
Can I use Acronis True Acronis True Image Home 2010 without reservation to copy an existing HD image to SSD? I am using WIN 7 64-bit. One disk is a VeliRaptor 600 GB the other an OCZ Vertex 2 100 GB. The WD 600GH HD has only about 30 GB of actual data. My understanding is that ATIH will take care of the drives size differences and auto adjust for the OCS SSD.
Thanks,
Kurt

If I understand correctly, I just boot up into WIN 7-64 on my WD 600 GB hard disk, then format the SSD drive using Windows & then create an image with TI 2010 of the WD 600 GB drive onto a third drive. After that I can restore the image from the 3rd drive to the SSD with TI 2010 from the WD 600 GB drive?
Is this correct?

Yes, but there is no need to use third drive - you can create the image somewhere on the WD drive.
