Incorrect protection state

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm using True Image Home 2009 on Windows Vista Ultimate and it's working quite well, but I've come across an anomaly.

I have a scheduled backup that backs up everything to an external USB drive, and as of last night, done so successfully.

However when I go into the Protection State screen, it says next to System Volume Backup "Not Created (warning!)? But all volumes are included in my scheduled backup so what's going on - am I protected or not?

Cheers,
Pete

The "Protection State" status isn't always accurate, especially if your backups reside on an external drive. You can safely ignore it if you know you've done a complete image backup of the drive.

Thanks MudCrab.

Just to clarify, when you say an image backup, I'm doing a full computer backup of all internal drives, with incrementals after that.

Is this the correct form of protection?

Cheers,
Pete

That's correct. You should use the My Computer backup option.

What won't give you complete protection is just doing System State backups or My Data (Files & Folders) backups.

After deleting it out of the secondary internal HD's ASZ, I recreate the System Volume Backup, which ATI 2009 indicates is good for a couple of days, then it starts indicating that a System volume Backup has not been created! (There are some details from others in the forum at 3763: False Warning: : "System Volume Backup not created")

Any ideas what's up with this behavior?

Hello kweimer,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

Have you tried to create full drive backup from Protection State window? The issue shouldn’t be reproduced in case it is please let me know.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
