incremental backup not working

Thread needs solution

I am using ATIH 2012 version 6131.
The operating system is Windows 7 Pro version 7600.
I am using a Seagate External USB drive for the backup.
I performed a full backup and three incrementals.
I tried to create another incremental today and got the following error:
Internal error: start sector is not in uncopied area #2 (0x70001)
I then tried doing a full backup and got the same error:
Internal error: start sector is not in uncopied area #2 (0x70001)
How can I fix this?
TIA

My first stop would be to check the disk for errors.
From a command prompt
CHKDSK C: /R

A reboot may be necessary.

I'm having a simuliar problem, I set up my system to be backed up incremetally deleting any backups older than 2 weeks. I was able to make the original full backup and three incremental ones and on the forth one I get this error "Operation with partition '0-0' was terminated. Details the archive is corupted (0X70020)" This has happened the last 3 times my system has attempted to create a new incremental version.
Im running Acronis 2012 Home with the Plus pack on a Windows 7 Ultimate PC Desktop 64bit.
When I check for updates Acronis reports i have the most current version.

Any help would be great,

There have been other reports of the option "delete after x days" of having problems. My suggestion would be to create a new task and a new storage folder and use the keep x number of recent versions backups as the guide.

Gerald,

Since you have a message that your backup is corrupted, the best thing to do is to:
- validate the TIB files that you have, to make sure that the backup chain is valid,
- move the validated chain to another directory on the same disk for safekeeping,
- delete the task in ATI and create a new task with the recommended settings in the previous post.
