Incremental backups not doign as they are told.
Hello All,
I am having issues with my backups not completing all the 5 interim backups.
It appears that if for any reason I am not plugged into my home Nas for the scheduled backup, then the next one will be a 'full' backup...Also it looks like if i do an 'unscheduled' backup!
Even if i miss it for 2 minutes?? used to work as required even if i did unscheduled interim backups, but not now.
I have attached a list of the backups on the NAS to give you an idea.
Is there any known solution for this?
Thanks in advance
SG

Colin,
Sorry about the delayed response....Latest version Build 6514
NAS has the same IP address always and is scheduled to be on and running 30 mins prior, even if NAS turned off.
The drives do sleep due to 'green' stuff, but never asleep in the 30 minutes to scheduled backup...
Manually invoked incremental backups will work, but the next one is always a 'full' backup...
Nas is accessed via true image...it sort of maps it as a drive, but really is the UNC \\NAS\blah\blah
Hope this helps you
Cheers

Here is one step you can try.
Open Device Manager on your computer
Click/display the Universal Serial Bus Controllers items
Click each listing for the USB Root Hub
Click on the Power Management option
If checked, UNCHECK the listing "Allow the computer to turn off power to this device to save power. CLICK OK.
Repeat this process on all listings for USB Root Hub under the controller header.

In addition to the above, another more detailed option is listed in link #3 below using the item 9 listing inside that link.

GroverH,
Computers attached to NAS doing backups are configured not to sleep. In fact one of the laptops has been behaving fine, but is windows 7 32bit. The computer I am having issues with is win7 64bit and only if I miss a backup and do a manual operation, or if I force a manual backup at any time between the scheduled backups.
NAS is attached via network interface only...Its a QNap TS659 Pro+. pretty sure that the USB drivers shuldnt be an issue.
I do like your Power management instructions, probably is a good idea to implement that regardless of current power management settings...:-)
Cheers
