install catch 22 .......

Thread needs solution

I'm upgrading ATI2013 to 2014. I 1st tried to install 2014 over 2013, it wanted 2013 uninstalled. 2013 will not uninstall from the programs and features. Next I run the cleanup utility, and follow Grover's instructions. It asks for a reboot at the end, I decline and make the 2 registry edits. Rebooting gives a BSOD, and I'm forced to to a windows repair. Back in windows ATI2013 will not uninstall. I try reinstalling 2013, fail, it wants 2013 uninstalled 1st.

How do I get out of this loop and install 2014?

windows 7 64 bit

thanks in advance

I would install Iobit Uninstaller to remove 2013 and run its power uninstall at the end. That should clear out whatever is blocking.

worked like a charm, thanks

Acronis may want to revisit their uninstall utility, so far its 2 for 2 on BSOD'ing my systems.

IOBIT will try to tempt you to get other products such as Advanced System Care. Don't be tempted.

Running a System Restore did the trick for me here by the way if this helps anyone.
