Install fails with registry access denied error
I'm trying to install True Image 2010 build 7046 on my Windows 7 64-bit PC. It fails and displayes a message about being unable to open a registry key. The message is "UNKNOWN\Components\D837A5A6025A097418FEC01D08D33FB5\3A83DE762884B8444BD44382BA007D5D. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel".
I did previously have TI 2010 installed and had uninstalled it. I'm trying to put it back.
Any suggestions?
Brian

Hello Brian,
Let me help you to resolve the issue.
Please start Windows Registry Editor from Start -> Run -> regedit
Find the key that failed to update, it should be somewhere in
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\...\Components\
Right-click on it and select Permissions and make sure that you have Full Control to modify that key, if you do not, please make it so.
After that please try the installation again.
Please let me know if the issue still persists, I'll be glad to assist you further.
Thank you.

Hi Ilya. It was tedious, but finally worked. By giving myself Full Control permissions to each key that the TI installer complained about (there were six keys), eventually the installation finished successfully.
Thank you
