Integrity of Backup after Execution Faulure

One of my backups is configured to perform a full backup followed by six incrementals before starting a new cycle with a full backup.
My questions concerns the integrity of the backup after a failure of one of the incrementals.
If, for example, the second incremantal fails for whatever reason - is the whole of the second incremental backup TIB file ignored or are the successfully backed up up files available for restore?
And, will the overall integrity be re-established by a successful execution of the third incremental?
