Issue with a new NAS

Thread needs solution

Hi, I have a problem, I want to backup our PC to a new NAS (local ip 192.168.8.3), we want to set a complete backup.
Previously we have a differential backup on an other NAS.
Why my new backup fails ? I have an alert with this massage:
<> But this is the address of the old NAS; Why Acronis does not end this new backup on my news NAS ? Why Acronis try to open this old file instead of end backup ?

In Italian:
Ciao, ho un problema con un nuovo NAS di rete, sul quale voglio impostare un backu completo. Prima facevamo un backup differenziale su altro NAS. Perchè Acronis fallisce ? Perchè cerca un file sul vecchio NAS ?

I think your problem is that you need to create a new task for the new backup device and delete the old or prior task. Acronis is trying to work with your old scheduled backup task even though you have changed to backup location. This is by design of the program. You should create a new full backup with a new scheduled differential using the new NAS as the target location for these backups.

Hi I tried to do what you wrote me:
- I removed the old backup task on Acronis panel
- I created on nas3 (ip 192.168.8.3) a new folder
- I created on Acronis a new task with full backup with destination new folder

I still obtain that Acronis tries to open an old file in the old nas (192.168.8.1) : why ?
What I havo to do to obtain my backup ?
Thanks.

Can you translate the error message into english for me? I believe it says that the application cannot find the last incremental file made to your old NAS address 192.168.8.1.

I trust that you did successfully DELETE the original backup task. That means that the task no longer appears in the application. If that is the case then you will need to remove the reference to prior backups from the application database. To do that use Windows file explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database\archives.xml, rename archives.xml to archives.old, reboot your machine.

This will force the application to recreate its internal database which stores information about backups and should clear the old information provided you did successfully DELETE the old task.
